Project Manager

Juliana studied Environmental Management and holds a master’s degree in Ecotechnology. She has more than 15 years of experience in environmental management, territorial planning, and biodiversity conservation, in the public and private sectors and international cooperation across Latin America. She has coordinated projects in integrated water resource management, watershed management, and Nature-based Solutions (NbS), as well as in the design and implementation of financial instruments for conservation.
She has also led technical and territorial processes that link environmental planning, biodiversity, and management instruments, ensuring coherence between the design, implementation, and monitoring of environmental initiatives. At SELVAR, she coordinates projects focused on territorial planning and management, integrating biodiversity and NbS approaches, and ensuring technical quality, inter-institutional coordination, and delivery of results in local and regional contexts.

Juliana Uribe

Juliana Uribe

Hydrologist specializing in Nature-Based Solutions

Juliana holds a PhD in Engineering, with a focus on urban planning through Nature-based Solutions (NbS). She is an Environmental Engineer with a master’s degree in Hydrology and Water Resource Management (University of Alcalá de Henares, Spain) and a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering (Universidad de los Andes, Colombia). She has 5 years of experience in hydrology consulting for high-environmental-impact projects and 5 years in applied research, coordinating the euPOLIS Horizon 2020 project. She recently provided technical support to Colombia’s National Planning Department (DNP) in designing the National NbS Strategy and participated in the SALURBAL CLIMA project, conducting applied research on rising urban temperatures and their effect on municipal mortality. Since 2024, she has been promoting the implementation of urban water reuse systems and supporting environmental education processes through the company Nature-Based Architecture. She also founded PERMEABLE S.A.S., a company specializing in the hydrological and hydraulic design of NbS.

Melissa Cuevas

Melissa Cuevas

Conservation, Environmental Governance, and Nature-based Solutions

Melissa is a biologist from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and holds a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University (the Netherlands). Her work has focused on biodiversity conservation, sustainable territorial management, and Nature-based Solutions as tools for addressing socio-environmental challenges. She has participated in planning and environmental governance, water resource management, climate change adaptation, and capacity building projects, working with public entities, cooperation organizations, and local stakeholders. At SELVAR, she contributes to building solutions that connect knowledge, territory, and people to drive transformation toward sustainability.

Carlos Lince

Carlos Lince

Architect and Landscape Designer

Carlos is an architect with a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the Universidad Católica de Chile, with more than 14 years of professional experience in the public and private sectors. He has participated in national and international projects in Chile, Spain, and Colombia, and has a solid track record in coordinating, managing, and designing projects in territorial planning, urban design, landscape architecture, sustainability, and ecology, including public space design, developing innovative proposals of high environmental, aesthetic, and functional value. He has extensive experience leading and coordinating interdisciplinary teams to formulate and execute green infrastructure, ecological restoration, climate change adaptation, and ecosystem recovery initiatives, using Nature-based Solutions (NbS). His approach integrates ecological, social, cultural, and economic criteria to strengthen urban and rural territorial resilience and sustainability. His projects promote social interaction, citizen wellbeing, and territorial sustainability, in line with the needs of each intervention context.

Nature and Climate Projects Specialist

Luisa is a political scientist and holds a master’s degree in Political Science from the Universidad de Los Andes and an MSc in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science from Lund University (Sweden). She has more than 10 years of experience in the management, design, implementation, and monitoring of public policies and consulting and research projects in environmental and social sustainability in Colombia. She has worked with the public and private sectors, international cooperation, and academia on evaluating Nature-Based Solutions (NbS); developing biodiversity conservation training; sustainable territorial management and water governance; nature tourism; producing content on environment and sustainability; and designing and facilitating participatory methodologies to engage key stakeholders across 20 departments of Colombia. Luisa supports SELVAR in project structuring and communications.

Landscape Architect

She is an architect and landscape designer, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Universidad de los Andes, with a master’s degree in Territory and Landscape Architecture from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. She also holds a certificate in Permaculture Design and in Holistic Science and Sustainable Living, which has allowed her to deepen her expertise in regenerative and systemic approaches for designing resilient territories. Her comprehensive training focuses on resilient public space design, edible landscape design, climate change adaptation, and the implementation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS), applying this knowledge to the regeneration of landscapes and ecosystems.
