I’m Carolina Figueroa-Arango, founder and CEO of SELVAR. In 2020, I published a book on how to integrate nature-based solutions (NbS) into Colombian cities. Over the past four years, SELVAR, in collaboration with public and private partners, has implemented this guide and strengthened capacities in Colombia and Latin America.

Inspired by colleagues from Africa, Asia and Latin America, we translated and expanded the guide into English, creating a collective effort with 21 authors from 18 cities and 11 countries across the Global South. This new book provides a practical approach to scaling NbS, along with case studies and reflections on overcoming shared challenges, emphasizing that nature is the future of our cities.
